Got over to Beav's and changed oil in DR. Thanks Beav! His restored Cougar oversaw the operation and ensured the operation was completed satisfactorily.
It has done well . Light enough that I can pick it up after crashing. Tough enough it survived the crash and getting t-boned. Only mechanical problem was a failed stator at 40,000 miles. Did very well on MABDR, in the woods in Pennsylvania, in the mountains in Colorado and in the desert. Plenty of power for off road. The only limitation was my limited riding ability. I could not have picked a better bike.
I wouldn’t say the cougar is restored. It runs and stops. What more does a beaver need?
