Arizona Riding

Incredible ride yesterday, guided by my new buddy Skip. Up to the top of Mt. Lemmon, then I camped, coming back down the mountain, at Molino Basin. Beautiful place, where a very loud and strange "noise" woke me at 0300. It lasted about 15 minutes and was loud enough that it created echo's in the canyon. Audio below: 3 AM Wakeup Thanks to Skip for all the help and tour service! Arizona is an incredible place for a bike. Pictures coming! Have to download from my camera Stop for a Sonoran Dog. Good stuff! Road to the top of Mt. Lemmon Molino Basin

Firsts!

First ride on AZ 86 West after leaving Empire Ranch. Great motorcycle road. The, first time in Tucson. Once in Tucson, first time eating quesobirria tacos. Then, my first time seeing a saguaro cactus. The, first time seeing the aircraft boneyard. And the fist time seeing the Pima Air Museum. This allowed another first: Seeing a B-36 bomber. Didn't even know any were still in existence. And then another first: A B-29 Superfortress. About the most beautiful plane ever built. So, that topped off the day.... UNTIL! I got to Saguaro National Park. Like being on another planet. Spectacular. Tonight, camping on some BLM land on outskirts of Tucson. This place is a little sketchy and noisy, being off the highway. Tonights spot. Taco bliss

Tucson

First stop, quesubirria tacos in Tucson. I don't have words for these!

BLM Boondock Site

Boondocking in the desert, about 30 miles southeast of Tucson.  The sun is below the horizon and the silence is almost eerie. Supposed to drop down to about 35 tonight and there is no wind. And, exactly where am I?  31°48'02.0"N 110°39'19.3"W Map Link

Tombstone

To say this is a tourist trap is an understatement. Something to eat, gas and I am outta here!
