Have service for DR scheduled for next Wednesday in Tucson. Hanging around here until the 19th and then working my way east for the appointment.
Got in a 30 mile desert ride today. DR enjoyed it even more than I did. And, I had to do an excursion of "the wall". It has proven to be a waste of money as illegals are pouring in at ever increasing rates. Utter madness.
The sign for Quitobaquito marks the location of a NFS pond restoration project which, after hearing a presentation, made no sense at all. It was very expensive, and sought to restore balance in the desert biome. The problems are multiple. 1. The pond is man-made. 2. To restore balance, they provided the leaking pond with a plastic liner. 3. The sought after balance isn't actually achieved as the plastic liner in the man-made pond is leaking. I wonder if this leakage is due to the use of bulldozers to cover the pond liner with dirt after placement. Just a thought. Dozer tracks... plastic liner... just a thought...
