Bull Shoals And The Buffalo River

Camping at Lakeview Park on Bull Shoals Lake. Bull Shoals is a very large lake by Midwestern estimates, with a surface area over 45,000 acres, over twice the size of it's next door neighbor, Norfork Lake, which weighs in at 22,000 acres. All in all, a stunning place to be in springtime. Another place I made my way to today was the ghost town of Rush, AR. It was a zinc mining town that fell into decline after WW1. Not much left, but it is the location of Rush Campground, on the beautiful Buffalo river. The Buffalo is very popular with canoeists and fishermen Views of Bull Shoals dam, above. The Buffalo River Rush campground. Water not turned on yet so camping is free! I found some poison ivy! Joy. Hoping I didn't contact it before I noticed it. I'll know in the morning, if not sooner.

Mountain Home, AR

Looks like Mountain Home is where I will be settling down. Lots to do. Will keep the blog going for motorcycle travels, but right now, I don't:t even have my motorcycle! Getting back in my truck was quite a switch.

Norfork Lake

Three nights camping on Norfork Lake.  Will try to do a bit of exploring tomorrow. Camping with my truck is wwwaaayyy different than a motorcycle! Weather is perfect. Bright sun and 69 degrees. See if I can get by tonight without the rainfly.

Stoic Quote Of The Day

When The Sun Goes Down...

So, when the sun gets low in the sky, and the banjos start ringing in the hollars, what do people do in Arkansas? Why, eat Tacos de Quesabirria of course!

Mountain Home, Arkansas

72 degrees and catfish in Mountain Home! Keto is taking a vacation....🙄

Easter Morning!

 Happy Easter!

Festus, MO

Left Piedmont Park yesterday. Spent the night in Festus. Going out this morning to look st some property. I think it is time to establish a base.

Sunset At Clearwater

Storms are over. Should be a nice quiet night. Chilly, down to around 40. Should Mae for a good nights sleep.

More Weather...

Waiting for the storms to roll in. Could be an interesting night. Hopefully no tornado or hail! Pretty breezy right now but nothing extreme.

Great Day At Clearwater

Cool air and bright sun today. Had a great ride through the forest on MO34 today, going to Van Buran and the Current River, then stopping at Big Spring. From Big Spring, I rode back out HH to MO21 and rode to Ellington, then back to Piedmont Park. Forest is still pretty bare with a few trees budding out. The dogwoods and redbuds are blooming.
